Explore Woking's green spaces

A new guide, entitled 'Explore - a guide to Woking's green spaces', has been developed by the Council to encourage residents and visitors to get out and about in the Borough, and enjoy the local countryside.

The fold-out leaflet features many of the parks, gardens and play areas in the Borough. In addition, it highlights the open spaces nearby that offer informal recreational opportunities in the local area, such as walking, cycling and riding.

The centre pages of the pocket-sized guide consist of a map of the Borough, with a key to the main recreation grounds and parks listing the facilities that can be found at each site, including car parking, public toilets, and sports pitches. Countryside sites, such as common and heath land, and local waterways, are also plotted on the map.

The leaflet has been sponsored by Serco, which works in partnership with Woking Borough Council to deliver some of its environmental services, and copies are available from the Civic Offices. Alternatively, an electronic version can be downloaded from the Council's website, at www.woking.gov.uk
