Introduction
This issue's front cover took me right back to being a child again, watching the pantomime with my siblings, marvelling at the amazing sets and costumes and then heading home for a delicious Christmas tea.
This year's production of 'Cinderella' at the New Victoria Theatre promises to deliver magic and festive cheer galore and in this issue we are offering you the chance to win a family ticket. All you need to do is answer three simple questions to be in with a chance of going to the ball (as a spectator at least!)
Many of the events and activities that are going on in the Borough over the festive period are included in this issue. Or, if you feel like getting away from the hustle and bustle, you could enjoy a five-mile walk around Horsell Common, taking in some interesting sights and sounds as you go (see Out and about).
Enjoying a walk is one way to help you stay fit and healthy over the winter months but additional sound advice is also on offer from a number of local agencies in the 'Features' section. Turn to this double-page spread to find out how best to look after yourself and your family during the colder, darker months.
Looking ahead to the New Year, this issue includes important information about further changes to the waste and recycling service that will be introduced from January. In just a few weeks' time, you will be able to divert your food waste from landfill with the help of two new containers (please see 'Features' for more).
Also in this issue, two local Councillors give us an insight into their busy lives (it's non-stop!) and industrious people are also featured in a special article about some interesting activity that is going on in our local schools.
But before we get too carried away with the New Year, it's time to enjoy the here and now. Get ready for a few days of relaxation, share some fun times with your favourite people and have a very merry Christmas!
